Cycling for the community, by the community.

Welcome to the  Bike North Birmingham Community Cycling website.

The Bike North Birmingham Community Cycling web site is an umbrella site created as a ‘one-stop-shop’ for people in North Birmingham to get information on community cycling initiatives.  The organisations that you will find on this site are predominantly those that cater for new or returning riders or those with particular needs.  This site merely gives information on those organisations and does not necessarily have any further connection with them – most of the organisations features will have their own web site or Face Book page that will give more information.  If you feel that your group should be featured here please do get in touch.

History: Bike North Birmingham started off as a project run by several groups including Birmingham City Council, Sustrans and Cycling UK, and was intended to promote grass-roots cycling in the North Birmingham Area (Erdington, Sutton Coldfield, and surrounding places).  It put on led rides, taught people to ride, put in new infrastructure, worked with schools, etc etc.  When the project finished in 2015 part of it was taken over by Bike North Birmingham Community Cycling-Easy Riders who continued to do led rides, learn-to-ride and so on, as a Cycling UK Affiliate Group.  BNBCC-Easy-Riders now concentrate on their very Successful Wednesday led rides and learn-to-ride is mostly catered for by British Cycling’s “Ride Active”.  In the mean time a number of other grass roots cycling groups have started in the area and thus it was decided to use the BNBCC website as an umbrella site to publicise them all.

BNBCC is a Cycling UK Affiliate Group.
